On a technical side, the updates are fairly small, if you already upgrade your LR to the version that offers the new processing technology, then you are all set. You might have to recompile your Expressions, as there are some new or changed parameters. Besides, if you already upgraded to the LR3, then you already have to version 4 on top, right?

But the most important aspect is that we all take our time to learn what the new feature does to our photo. It is not easy to go from a calibrated and tweaked photoshop, to a software that works with subtleties and cannot differentiate between a fine pixel and a poor/bad pixel. To summarize, the new version tries to bring analog to digital processing, and then tries to make digital versions look better than if we apply it to our photographs. Obviously, there are always going to be glitches, and it requires some heavy handedness to be able to get the best outcome from the new version. As a photographer, the fact that it is a lot of work with lots of testing, bug fixing, updates, and theory, is irrelevant. The new version is still a system, and it does have flaws, but it promises to be a good replacement for the PS. That is what we are looking for.

Lightroom can do a lot more than just adjust photos, and since there’s a good amount of editing features built into the program, it’s ideal for people who aren’t quite yet a pro and are interested in taking their editing skills to the next level.

One of the differences between the Lightroom CC and Lightroom 6 is that the standalone version is still under development. The Adobe Lightroom cracked Team doesn’t work on its standalone version as much as the software bundle. The CC version is updated on a monthly basis. Lightroom 6, on the other hand, will be updated at a much slower pace. However, you will still receive updates on the standalone version.

Adobe Lightroom is the company’s premier photo app. Its photo editing tools have become so good and popular that those photo apps that try to compete have to throw in a lot of freebies to get people to use their products. To make that happen, in my experience, most of them barely mention the photo editing tools that people have become used to from Lightroom. When Adobe first introduced Lightroom, it could have just been a free standalone app that came with Photoshop, but they added a Creative Cloud service. That subscription model is the most prevalent one these days.

Here’s the most obvious place to start: You can preserve information from a RAW photo’s shot—color space, exposure settings, highlight and shadow data, and so on – as the photo-editing process is happening in Lightroom. These settings aren’t preserved in any way in other programs. You have complete control of the entire photo-editing process in a way that other programs do not. You can drag and drop an image to Lightroom’s Develop module, and the frame and buttons you use in there will match your settings in other modules. And the entire experience looks and feels like a larger version of the image-management program you use day-to-day.

Your purchased catalogs and settings will download to the new version of Lightroom. Another benefit of Lightroom is the stunning quality of the output you get from your images, whether you shoot JPEG or RAW. The program’s image corrections are better than Adobe Camera Raw or Adobe Photoshop. Lightroom’s Fast Tone controls are equally effective in adjusting a photo’s exposure to produce better results, while Adobe has abandoned its Scene Optimizer module in recent versions of Photoshop.

Lightroom is like your photo-editing darkroom. You can build a set of standard edit sizes: 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 5 x 7.5, and so on. You can scale and crop images to these sizes and maintain the same proportions of the image as you would in the viewfinder.

First-rate raw converter apps are not built-in to Lightroom. But you can pull JPEGs straight from your camera, which the app automatically omits and converts them to DNGs. A few artistic effects are applied in-app. A color posterization filter, a vignette effect, and a toy-rocket effect further enhance the images.

As a photographer, and a user, I love the workspace for editing photos. But as someone who’s taught Lightroom at an online photo academy for the past year, I often found the feature set daunting. Now, I know what I like, but there’s also options for lots of things I’m constantly changing. You can search (including online for bookmarks and tags) by key word, artist name, and even by place. You can view all your current edits by sequence number as well as by the camera settings you used for the sequence.

New features include options to vary exposure, colors, and clarity along the left-hand side of the workspace. It’s possible to change perspective from landscape to portrait, to adjust for depth of field, and even to enable or disable the Lightroom camera data overlays.

As a non-RAW shooter, I can’t really compare Lightroom’s massive adjustment panel with iPhoto. I can just say I don’t miss the iPhoto HDR image editing. The same goes for the Histogram. It helps so much with understanding what’s going on in an image. And in this day and age, it’s so much easier to get an image’s colors and tonality right the first time, in part because RAWs are so much better. So at the end of the day, those little nagging issues have more of a negative impact on editing and post-processing with raw, than their absence does.

So, how does Lightroom Mobile work? Well, you basically open the camera app on your smartphone, snap a picture and the file is automatically inserted into Lightroom. The next step is to select from the available camera presets which is recommended. The presets are designed to help you get straight to the point without having to spend time fiddling with basic settings. For example, there is a “Standard” preset which contains all of the basic settings for you, plus a selection of available adjustments. It’s very quick to go from that preset to the next. You can also create a custom preset, which gives you full access to all of Lightroom’s options. Lightroom Mobile provides a preview of the image as you make changes, so you can see exactly how its going to look before you save.

Once you have made some adjustments, you can hit the “Save” button to save your changes, or press the “Camera” menu button to connect to the smartphone camera. Then select another preset or photo from your camera roll. You can then either delete the original image, which is handy if you want to remove the previous image, or select the “Upload & Download” button to save the image to your Adobe cloud service.
